While the Second Phone Number App offers many benefits, it's important to understand its limitations. Unfortunately, sending messages to shortcodes is not currently supported.
Here's why:
- Second Phone Number utilizes Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology. This differs from traditional cellular networks used by shortcodes.
- Shortcodes are designed to interact with specific cellular networks and may not recognise or respond to messages sent from VoIP numbers.
Alternatives:
- If you need to use a shortcode, you might consider: Using a traditional mobile phone number or contacting the service or organization associated with the shortcode directly to inquire about alternative methods.
We're always working to improve:
- We understand this limitation might be inconvenient. We're continuously exploring ways to expand Second Phone Number's capabilities and potentially offer shortcode support in the future.
